ADVERTISEMENT FOR ACADEMIC AND NON-ACADEMIC STAFF POSITIONS

Following the license by the Federal Executive Council for the establishment of the University on the Niger and the approval of the National Universities Commission (NUC) to commence academic activities in the 20 programmes of the University with effect from the 2023/2024 session, we are currently seeking exceptionally qualified staff with outstanding integrity and demonstrable leadership qualities to join our team in pioneering the University.

C. QUALIFICATIONS

Professor

Candidates must possess a first degree of not less than second class upper division, a master’s degree and a PhD degree, (MBBS and Fellowship) in the appropriate discipline applied for, with at least ten (10) years of teaching and research experience in a University. Candidates must be international scholars of high esteem, with scholarly peer-reviewed publications in both local and international journals as proof of the area of specialization within departmental fields of study. A Scopus publication h-index of 15 points and above and the evidence of having attracted research grants as principal investigator in recent years will be added advantages. Candidates must also have sufficient administrative experience and must not be above 60 years old at the time of appointment. ICT proficiency is required.

Associate Professor

Candidates must possess a first degree of not less than second-class upper division, a master’s degree and a PhD degree, (MBBS and Fellowship) in the appropriate discipline applied for, with at least eight (8) years of teaching and research experience in 2 University. Candidates must be international scholars of high esteem, with scholarly peer-reviewed publications in both local and international journals as proof of the area of specialization within departmental fields of study. A Scopus publication h-index of between 8 to 14 points and the evidence of having attracted Peng grants as principal investigator in recent years will be added advantages. Candidates must also have sufficient administrative experience and must not be above 55 years old at the time of appointment. ICT proficiency is required.

Senior Lecturer

Candidates must possess a first degree of not less than second-class upper division, a master’s degree and a PhD degree, (MBBS and Fellowship), in the appropriate discipline applied for, with at least five (S) years of teaching and research experience in a University. Candidates must be international scholars of high esteem, with scholarly peer-reviewed publications in both local and international journals as proof of the area of specialization within departmental fields of study. A Scopus publication h-index of between 4 to 7 points and the evidence of having attracted research grants as principal investigator in recent years will be added advantages. Candidates must also have sufficient administrative experience and must not be above 50 years old at the time of appointment. ICT proficiency is required.

Lecturer I

Candidates must possess a first degree of not less than second class upper division, a master’s degree and a PhD degree, (MBBS and Fellowship) in the appropriate discipline applied for, with at least two (2) years of teaching and research experience in a University as a Lecturer II. Candidates must possess scholarly peer-reviewed publications in both local and international journals as proof of the area of specialization within departmental fields of study. Candidates must not be above 45 years old at the time of appointment. ICT proficiency is required.

Lecturer II

Candidate for direct appointment to the rank of Lecturer II must possess a Ph.D in the relevant subject areas. ICT proficiency is required.

Laboratory Technologists (Only in departments advertised)

A Candidate for the position of Senior Laboratory Technologist must possess a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree from a recognized University not below 2nd Class Lower Division, plus a Master’s Degree, plus six (6) years post qualification cognate experience. Candidates for Laboratory Technologist I & II must possess a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree from a recognized University not below 2nd Class Lower Division plus at least (Two) years post qualification cognate experience. All applicants must be registered with the National Institute of Science Laboratory Technology (NISIT) or other recognized professional laboratory technology bodies. Candidates must not be above 50 years old at the time of appointment. ICT proficiency is required.

D. SALARIES AND ALLOWANCES:

Salaries and allowances are as obtainable in Nigerian Public Universities.

E. CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

As contained in the approved conditions governing the service of Staff in Nigerian Universities.
